Michael Funk

DVM, Co-Owner & Medical Director

Co-owner Dr. Michael Funk has been voted Best Veterinarian on Long Island (9th year)! Care and compassion are just two words that embody Dr. Funk's work and patient interactions. He is also Levittown Animal Hospital's Medical Director and looking to improve patient outcomes, client satisfaction, protocols, and system efficiencies.

As a graduate of Michigan State University, Dr. Michael Funk uses an excellent set of core values to balance progressive medicine with practicality. Following Hurricane Sandy, Dr. Funk organized a relief effort for the animals of Long Island by recognizing the medical needs of animals affected by the disaster, but also the irreplaceable bond shared between a person and their companion.

By blending open and frequent communication with a strong base of knowledge and experience, Dr. Funk guarantees supreme medical care for your pets. Trained and certified to perform Zeuterin, an FDA-certified non-surgical sterilization method, Dr. Funk is able to offer an alternative to the traditional neutering procedure for certain dogs. While Zeuterin is no longer available, Dr. Funk still looks for cutting edge medical advancements in this field. He also has a professional interest in neurology and seizure management, as well as surgery involving wound-repair.

Dr. Funk and his wife, Bernadette, share their home with their daughter, son, and three dogs Juno, Maverick, and Sophie. An avid sports fan, Dr. Funk follows NFL and college football, Michigan State football and basketball and the New York Mets and the New Jersey Devils.
