Prevention and early detection of disease are the hallmarks of a well-rounded healthcare plan. Nobody enjoys going to see their doctor, but imagine waiting six or seven years between seeing your physician for a check-up. How about 12 or 14 years? Sounds crazy, but remember that dogs and cats age more rapidly than we do. They also can't tell us where it hurts or why they're not eating. In fact, most pets will instinctually hide their discomfort or pain. Even the healthiest of pets still require:

• A physical examination every 6 to 12 months
• Regular dental examinations
• Dental prophylaxes (cleanings)
• Parasite screening and prevention
• Nutritional counseling
• Age-appropriate diagnostic testing
• Vaccinations

Because no two pets are the same, our approach to each individual's medical needs must also be unique. This applies to everything from a kitten's first set of vaccinations to a 15 year old dog's arthritis treatment.
