Healthy Starts for Puppies and Kittens
Puppy Care
We love puppies at Levittown Animal Hospital, and what we love even more is helping provide them all of the essential care they need to get their life started on the right paw.
We recommend that all new puppy owners set up an initial appointment for their puppy at Levittown Animal Hospital, for a range of reasons. First, we want to provide a nose-to-tail physical exam to establish a health baseline, while also looking out for any hidden health issues that we can address early rather than later.
We’ll also recommend a vaccination schedule based on your pup’s age, vaccination history, and lifestyle. Vaccinations we recommend for puppies include (but aren’t always limited to):
- Distemper Hepatitis
- Parvovirus
- Rabies
- Bordetella

Kitten Care
Is there anything more precious than looking into the big, beautiful eyes of a loveable little kitten that you’ve just brought home? How about the peace of mind that comes from knowing your kitten is healthy and properly vaccinated?
At Levittown Animal Hospital, we advocate for early wellness exams for kittens, which allow us to give a full physical exam, recommend a vaccine schedule, and conduct routine tests that help ensure your kitten is developing properly.
If you have any questions about recommended vaccinations and tests we recommend for your pet, you’re always welcome to speak with your vet who will be happy to answer any and all questions before moving forward. After all, caring for your new kitten is a team effort between Levittown Animal Hospital and you as their owner.

Spay/Neuter Procedure
We strongly recommend all dogs and cats be sterilized to reduce sexual instincts, unwanted behaviors, and the chances of infection and disease. Our veterinarians are highly trained to perform spay and neuter procedures. We guarantee your companion will be closely monitored, safe, and comfortable throughout the entire procedure and recovery period.
Neutering involves the surgical removal of the testicles. This procedure will lessen aggressive behaviors, decrease the urge to roam, and prevents testicular cancer and prostate disease. We will perform a pre-operative physical exam and blood testing to ensure safety during surgery and while under anesthesia. Typically, recovery is simple with minimal aftercare.
